Yesterday I went for a walk on one of the new permissive paths starting by the side of Rolf’s Ghyll and leading north towards Combe Farm where it joins up with the footpath (M&FA 69f and Wadhurst 16c) which takes you to the end of Wadhurst Park Lake. It is a lovely track, slightly muddy at times, but passing through fields, woods and with the deer park on the right for much of the way.
We are fantastically lucky to have landowners in the area who make routes like this available for us to enjoy and who put so much effort into looking after the countryside. The path meant that I could do an eight mile walk full of variety taking in Batts Wood as well. I am in the process of writing it up for the website.
The very wet weather followed by some mild dry weather seems to have brought out some flowers early. I even saw a dandelion already in seed as shown by the photo on the right.
